Zapp moves full speed ahead with the roll out of its 3G network

In the process of winning its 3G licence, Zapp committed to rolling out a 3G network covering most of Romania by the end of 2007. The first part of their commitment was concluded this week, when Telemobil SA paid before due date the first installment worth of 10.5 mil $ of the total cost of 35 mil $ of the granted 3G licence.

Piermario Di Pietro, CEO of Telemobil said: "The licence award marked the beginning of our 3G business in Romania. Over the next period, Zapp will work actively with mobile infrastructure, content and application providers and will invest generously in the development of network infrastructure and multi-media content.

The 3G services offered by Zapp will include video, mobile broadband and a wide range of news content such as news updates or entertainment, all at very affordable prices. "We look forward to providing our local customers with the best quality 3G services and expect to launch towards the end of the year.
