Zapp launches Z020 wireless modem

Zapp announces the commercial launch of the Z020 modem, the optimum wireless solution to connect to the Internet through the Zapp Internet Express service, which provides the fastest mobile data transfer speeds of up to 2.4 Mbps for download and 153.6 kbps for upload.

Sporting a compact design, thanks to its small size, 100 mm x 56 mm x 14 mm, and its only 61-gram weight, the Z020 modem is available in red, silver and black. The modem is easy to install and use with the help of the Zapp Internet Express Dialer application, included in the package. The application also allows viewing the SMS messages received. The modem gets power from a charger or from a USB cable, which is used to connect it to the desktop or laptop computer. There is also the option to buy a Li-Ion 1660 mAh battery.

The Z020 modem is commercially available for both Zapp Internet Express, the Internet access service based on subscription, and for the Zapp Internet Express Card, the Internet access service via prepaid card. Besides the benefits of the Zapp Internet Express � Internet surfing at broadband speeds and mobility, the users of the Zapp Internet Express Card also benefit from the flexibility a prepaid card with credit in form of Internet surfing time provides.

Zapp Internet Express is the first national wireless broadband service based on the CDMA 2000 1xEV-DO (Evolution Data Optimized) technology, which allows for data transfers at speeds of up to 2.4 Mbps. The service is available in Bucharest and county capitals. As for the rest of the service area, the Z020 modem operates at CDMA 1x technology speeds, which allows data transfers at up to 153.6 kbps.
